A REPORT ON THE FIRST ANNUAL CONVENTION OF AFFLICTION RELIEF CENTRE (ARC) ENUGU ON 23rd OCTOBER 2010
The first annual convention of Affliction Relief Centre (ARC) Enugu was held on 23rd October 2010 at ARC Headquarters. During this occasion over 150 people participated and witnessed the occasion under the chairmanship of Barrister Ofungwu Daniel C. a trustee member of ARC.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The convention was aimed at officially opening the office at the Headquarters then located at No. 42 Abakiliki Road Emene, Enugu State, Nigeria. The trustee members of ARC Enugu were also officially presented.

ACTIVITIES:
Rev. Fr Stan Zeowa the spiritual director of the organization, prayed, cut the tape, and dedicated the organization to the hands of God. During his speech, he pointed out clearly that the organization is non-governmental and non-profit making, which came into existence to address the increasing level of economic and social problems of the poor. He
also said that everybody who is involved in the organization should be dedicated, committed and be selfless to service to enable lives of the poor to be touched. He also urged the board of trustees to devote their time, money and energy to see to the progress of the organization.

In addition, Fr Stan blessed the office and everybody present, and assured that God will shower his infinite blessings on the members of the organization and its board of trustees. At this juncture, the official members of the Board of Trustees were presented as follows;

The Senior Programme Officer of the organization Mr Akpuokwe Anthony explained how far ARC had gone in Enugu East and Nkanu East. He said that they have been able to carry out spade work visits in two Communities namely: – Ezzia Onuogba and Ugwuomu Nike. They have equally conducted a base line study during which questionnaires were distributed to the people. Lastly, he said that a Community Based Health Education will be organized in these selected Communities between now and December 2010.

Solidarity speeches were made by some members of the Board of trustees during which they assured the organization that they are ready to put in their best to make sure that the organization is in the fore-front of providing succour to the afflicted. Finally, the President of ARC, Mr.Richard Zeowa gave a vote of thanks and promised that ARC will never fail in her duties of providing succour to the afflicted.
